The start line is the place to be. The dogs are leaping four paws and four feet in the air with excitement. Handler-helpers make sure the chaos is controlled during countdown, then 3-2-1 – GO DOGGIES. Pandemonium converts to drive and they are gone and the next team is lining up. The finish line is nearby. The race course is set up so you won’t miss a thing!
Events include solo and multi-dog races, a Kid and Mutt race so even the youngest can participate, and youth races celebrating our junior mushers. Don’t know what a pulka is? Come and find out! Paws hit the start line Sat at 9:30. Events continue throughout the day and commence at 9:30 again the next.
Dress warm but if you get a chill, cuddle up next to the bonfire. Bring your own S’mores! Hot chocolate, coffee or tea available. Between races discover vendors offering cool dog stuff and stay for the awards ceremony on Sunday. Ask a handler/musher if you can visit their team (Always ask before approaching.) This is a family event, all are welcome.
PLEASE NOTE: Only dogs registered as participants in events are permitted on the premises. For the safety of all, if you’re not a participant, please leave your dog at home.
